Celebrating Excellence from Tunani Africa Ghana

We are thrilled to celebrate one of our very own, Kweku Bruchim Labik, who has been selected as part of the prestigious Simons Foundation’s third class of Pivot Fellows! His journey and dedication to advancing knowledge in astronomy are a testament to his resilience and passion for science and research.

Launched in 2022, the Pivot Fellowship is open to faculty in the natural sciences, mathematics, engineering, data science, and computer science, providing a unique opportunity for academic advancement and interdisciplinary growth. This fellowship offers salary support, research, travel, and professional development funding, while mentors receive a $50,000 research fund to aid in training fellows within their labs. At the end of the fellowship year, fellows are invited to apply for a substantial three-year research award of up to $1.5 million, supporting continued work in their new field.

Kweku’s commitment to empowering young minds and his journey of overcoming challenges is truly inspiring. From his early days studying constellations to now securing his first international grant, he embodies the spirit of Tunani Africa Ghana—pushing boundaries, breaking new ground, and giving back to the community.

Congratulations, Kweku! Your achievements inspire us all, and we look forward to witnessing the incredible impact you will continue to make in your field. 🌟

Here’s to more milestones and a future filled with groundbreaking discoveries!
